AC Shadows Unveils Surprising AoT Event for Thanksgiving
In a surprising partnership that breaks conventional predictions, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Mission Uncovered
According to the authorized release, "A mysterious confrontation pulls characters Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of forbidden rituals and monstrous transformations echo through the darkness." The plot presents a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret cult.
The adventure centers on "bizarre experiments and a monstrous enemy" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Familiar Places and Metamorphoses
The preview highlights the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a striking moment showing a character, presumably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Unique Prizes and Bonus Content
Players who successfully complete the mission will acquire an exclusive katana alongside multiple items concealed throughout the area in concealed chests. The update also contains purchasable Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based attire for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special arms
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Content
This release also introduces the game's third free story content, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange signature skills: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "A Puzzlement" also contains a original environmental puzzle that may eventually explain some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with famous anime series. The series earlier showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Moreover, Valhalla informally contained a quest that clearly referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
